Accreditation

Summary

Registration is the first stage towards building a relationship with ODL QC.

All providers seeking accreditation must first register with ODL QC.    Those already accredited or registered do not need to re-register.

How to Apply

To register you should submit:

  • a completed Registration Form;
  • a providers statement;
  • copies of any promotional materials, such as leaflets and prospectuses;
  • a list of 3 referees;
  • a cheque for £100 / £250 (see Fees).

This information is downloadable in the Notes on Registration (D1)

Registration should be made by post.    Please ensure that the form is signed, and copies of all relevant materials and statements, and a cheque, are included.

Provider's Statement

This short statement should outline:

  • who you are, how you are constituted, and what links if any you have to other bodies;
  • what courses you offer, or are developing, and who are the present/intended learners/customers;
  • how long your have been in business, and what stage your development has reached;
  • your plans for the next 6 to 12 months.

Referees

Contact details (including email addresses if known) of up to three referees can be provided at registration.    Referees should be able to comment professionally on the quality or probity of your provision.    Referees are not essential, but their absence may slow down your application.

Special Cases

Special considerations apply in certain cases - details are given on the following pages

Newly Established ODL Providers
Internationally-based Providers
Universities and degree-awarding Bodies

What happens next

Once we have received and checked your form, we will acknowledge receipt.

If key information on the provider (name, ownership, contact details etc) is kept up to date by the provider, registration can normally be continued indefinitely without payment of a further fee.

Registration of a provider with ODL QC cannot normally be made public.

If you are not one of the special cases listed above, you can apply for assessment at the same time as registration, or at any time following registration.
