Irina Makoveeva (Contemporary, Moscow, Russia)
One of a series of unusual prints of flora and fauna by this talented artist, These prints were originally bought
directly from her via the 'Moscow Etching Gallery'. She now sells direct on Ebay and via her friend Gulya at the
'Garden of Eden' gallery in London. She is very accomplished and her coloured etchings in rather muted inks are
delightful. She has also done some charming mezzotints of which 'Sleeping Tiger' is one I must buy before the edition
runs out. The Frog was sent to me as Christmas card, and the 'Snail' provoked me into a try at drypoint myself - my
tawdry offerings can be viewed here if you so desire......
