I live in a small village called Brierfield, which lies 'twixt Burnley and Nelson in Lancashire. Brierfield came about to house the workers of Smith and Nephew in the age of "King Cotton". Sadly, there are very few mills left spinning. It lies at the foot of Pendle Hill which is reputed to be the home of famous witches such as Alice Nutter and Old Mother Demdyke. To find out more about the witches and the area, look out for a 'factional" novel called Mist Over Pendle by Robert Neill. I am very fortunate because I have both busy shopping areas and miles of unspoilt countryside within 1 kilometre of my doorstep.

To your left is a picture of Pendle Hill, which is where the brave camp out on Halloween!

My hobbies include reading ("pulp" fiction as well as modern classics), music (from Bach through to Blur - I am also learning the alto saxophone), cooking (I used to be a Chef) and computing for both pleasure and business (I must have one of the few houses with a five node WFWG network in a domestic setting - you should have heard the row I had with my wife about the holes in the wall when I installed the cabling - she would not believe that mice had made them!!)
