there’s no substitute for experience
How is the process review done ?
Churchill Associates believe that the only effective way of mapping the process is through direct involvement of the people who are responsible for the process. Using a workshop style,  a cross functional team map out out each stage of the process. The processes are recorded as a process flow chart or time-based chart to give a highly visible display of what happens.
Using standard symbols for activities, delays, movement etc; it is easy for the team to understand and agree how the current process works.
The team take part in a workshop to understand how to identify non-value added activity. Many tasks that are seen as essential to current process may be non-value added activities.
Starting with a clear understanding of the key objectives of the business, all process activities are divided into value-adding and non-vale adding elements. The team work together to devise ways of removing or reducing non-value added activities. This will often involve other staff who are experts in this element of the process or viewing and even videoing activities.
Identified improvements are implemented, giving priority to activities that give rapid and visible improvements, so that both the team and the company can see early signs of success.
