The next step is to give ourselves a means of measuring the progress of the programme. The OEE is a way of measuring how effective each individual piece of plant is, it relates defect free operating time to a theoretical ideal scenario. It is calculated for each piece of equipment as a function of availability, performance rate and quality rate. The OEE is a very tangible measure, having visibility of it helps everyone see and understand the results of their efforts in moving towards a TPM culture and is a vital step in the project. |
